The last 2 months have been a whirlwind. While relocating back to the US we've had very little time to stay in touch and keep everyone updated. We're still living in a hotel and that's also putting a damper on things. The good news, though, is that we have put an offer on a house that we love. We can't wait to get in it and we're hoping that will happen in the next 3 weeks. It's everything we wanted and since it hasn't been updated since 1965 so there is plenty to do. But that means it's a blank slate that we truly get to customize.
In the meantime, we're hanging out by the pool, visiting family and friends in the area, and getting reacquainted with living in America. It's really strange to have to acclimate ourselves to being in the States full time, but after 9 years in Europe it's a huge adjustment. It hasn't all been pleasant, but not having a language barrier is definitely helping.
The biggest downside is that the kiddos haven't been able to start school yet. Without an actual address the school won't let us start until we have an actual sales contract. :( It's not ideal but at least we know where we are going to be. I would have liked to have given them a proper first day of school after all the upheaval they've been through the last 6 months, but we've just got to roll with the punches.
As for right now, I'll continue perusing the internet for design inspiration for our new house and trying to refrain from purchasing everything I like at every store. ;)
I hope everyone is doing well. I hope to update some more soon with photos and real progress.
And who knows, this blog may turn into a home renovation blog. Who knows. ;)
