Ok, the good-for-nothin' arm twisters of the world would like to see the rearranged office even though it's not finished yet. So, here we go. :)
BEFORE
AFTER
Ok, I know it's not much of a difference, but it sure is lovely. The space feels more open and my view is fabulous.
Well, right now it's not particularly ideal. Right now the frost is still thick on the ground, there's no sunshine and I'm seriously thinking of not working today because my office will NOT warm up.
That's the only drawback to this space...the arctic temperatures. But that won't stop me from doing some shopping for new stuffs to toss in here. I need a new desk and a couch is high on the list of things to procure...something funky and kinda mod. Or maybe some classy little Edwardian settee. Not sure yet. For right now, though, it's good. Very workable. Even more so when my toes aren't numb.
Noodle has been changing a lot lately...really stretching her legs in the manipulation department. She's a girl and girls are born hard-wired for craftiness, but this one...this one is good. She knows exactly how to get what she wants and she is a fabulous mimic. She also came equipped with a sucker-radar, so watch out. She'll melt your heart and then as soon as she's got you, you're in trouble. And you better have sufficient offerings (cereal, raisins, Dora videos, cupcakes) or she will chew you up and spit you out. She's quick to forgive, though, so don't take it personally.
She looks unassuming, huh?
Her take charge attitude even permeates her wardrobe. The child is two. TWO, people. And she has very particular tastes and wishes. She even likes to accessorize. Yesterday was the cream on the cake, though.
She thought up this little outfit all by herself. She loves to layer. I ask you, what child does that? Most children scream bloody murder if you try to put something on their head or on their face. You might as well try to walk a cat on a leash. But not Noodle. She's gotta have the hat, the gloves, the shoes, the shades...I tell ya, it's bonkers around here in the morning if I can't find all her gear.
And she's talking. She's not babbling or spouting nonsense. The child delivers clear and concise sentences.
Example:
Me: Norah, do you want to watch Dora or Elmo?
Noodle: Dodee and Boops!
Ok, so I may be exaggerating a bit, but still...she's speaking very well. :) It's so cute!
We also gave her a little catch phrase for when she shows off her latest fashion creations. We told her to yell "I'm CUTE!" but it came out as
I TOOT!
And since it's no lie, we decided to leave it at that.
Because, yes, Noodle. You do toot.
